An expertly repaired
1/4-inch tear in the canvas, lower left (at the crook of the man's arm),
otherwise in excellent condition, in the original frame.
William
Snaith was the design director and "creative genius" of Raymond Loewy
Studios, the most prominent American Industrial Design Group of the 1940s and
'50s. Snaith's paintings were exhibited at the Whitney Museum of American Art
in 1949 and 1950.
