Bill Crawford was an award-winning American newspaper editorial cartoonist. A native of Ohio, Crawford graduated from Ohio State with a degree in Fine Arts and studied for a time in Paris. He was editorial cartoonist for the Newark News and his cartoons were distributed to more than 700 daily newspapers by the Newspaper Enterprise Association. |
He served as President and Vice-President of the National Cartoonists Society and in 1973 received their Silver T-Square Award. He also was awarded "Best Editorial Cartoon" in 1956, 1957, 1958, and 1963. In addition to his cartoon work he illustrated more than 20 books. |
