Image size 13 11/16 x 9 9/16 inches (348 x 243 mm); sheet size 10 7/8 x 15 3/4 inches (276 x 400 mm).

A superb, richly-inked impression, in warm black ink printed over selected areas of a pale grey background tint; on off-white wove paper, the full sheet with margins, (1 3/8 to 2 3/4 inches). Registration pinholes in the center top and center bottom margins, well away from the image; hinge glue remains in the top left and right sheet corners, otherwise in excellent condition.

A fine, rich impression, on cream wove paper, with full margins (1 to 1 5/8 inches), in excellent condition.

This print was commissioned by George Kindred for private distribution. The rarity of the print suggests that much of the edition was withheld or destroyed. It received the Shaw Prize at the Salmagundi Club in 1942. Illustrated in American Prints in the Library of Congress: A Catalog of the Collection, John Hopkins Press, 1970.
