A superb, painterly impression, printed in two colors, warm black and warm grey; with skillfully controlled overall plate tone; on off-white wove paper, full margins (2 1/8 to 3 3/8 inches), in excellent condition. Printed in warm grey ink, the visionary figure of La Victoire riding a winged horse contrasts with the rich black of the plowman and the discarded weapons of war in the foreground.

In 1923 Walcot traveled to New York with his publisher Harold Dickins where he etched at least half a dozen plates of Manhattan, including this image of Lower Manhattan with the Woolworth Building towering in the background, probably viewed from the Brooklyn Bridge.
